Safety forum (and APEX Safety Partner Awards)

Description: For airport operators safety and good business go together; without safety there is no business. Risks must be actively managed to continuously improve the level of safety. However, all too often we do not reflect this in institutional arrangements or when looking at safety budgets or business cases. This forum also looks at ways of enhancing internal dialogue between airport safety managers and the resource decision-making level, and external dialogue with the regulator.

Commercial revenues forum

Description: Non-aeronautical (commercial) sources of income represent 40% of total airport revenues. They not only provide diversification in an airport’s income portfolio, but also serve as an additional cushion during economic downturns. This forum will be an opportunity for stakeholders involved in commercial activities to exchange knowledge on developing commercial activities at both international and African airports.
